《著名探险家：国际社会（Renowned Explorers: International Society）》是Abbey Games制作发行的一款回合制冒险解谜游戏。游戏时间设定在 19 世纪，主要的目的是探索未知的土地。在游戏中你要带领一队著名的探险家们去寻找传说中的宝藏，并且要在世界博览会举办之前返回。你先要组建一支探险队，队内的探险家都各有专长，然后带领他们环游世界，去搜寻各种奇珍异宝。
当你确定了宝藏的位置之后，就开始了回合制式的行动。作为探险队的领队，你要用能够得到的一切资源去探索新的土地。在这个过程中，你会遇到各种类型的敌人，他们可能与你刀剑相向，可能会跟你交涉，也可能是这两种方式的结合。在经历了一系列的冒险之后（比如加勒比海，玛雅古庙以及热带丛林等），你将获得宝藏，返回博物馆。
为了让你的探险历程丰富多彩，游戏采用了 PCG 生成地形系统，所以你每一次面对的都会是不同的冒险和角色。作为探索的奖赏，你会有机会探寻到众多神秘和罕见的财宝。
