「前线任务2089」我方基地＆敌对组织角色介绍公布由日本Square Enix预定5月29日在NDS主机上发售推出，定价5040日圆，以之前i-αppli手机版提供玩家付费下载的“前线任务2089”为基础加以改编而成的这款戏剧性新作SRPG“前线任务2089 疯狂边界”（Front Mission 2089 Border of Madness），玩家在游戏中将化身为O.C.U.佣兵部队的机械人型兵器“Wander Panzer”（简称WAP）驾驶员Storm，并在存在于太平洋上的架空岛屿哈伏曼岛（Huffman）上跟神秘的部队“Vampires”展开一连串的激斗！
在NDS版中，除了将角色设计、关卡地图、战斗画面跟介面等内容全部更新之外，另外就连角色设定跟剧情等部份也都全部修正，让整个故事更显得充满戏剧性。而在这次的介绍中，就要为玩家介绍出击时的据点基地画面跟在哈伏曼岛上暗中活跃著的神秘部队“Vampires”以及新角色的相关情报！在作为本作进行作战行动重要据点的基地中，里面共有像是司令部、佣兵值勤办公室（佣兵诘所）、斗技场、停机坪（格纳库）等各式各样的设施存在。其中司令部是玩家接受任务命令的地方，佣兵值勤办公室则可以让玩家替换交流自己小队成员的场所，有时还会发生事件或是得到道具等等。至于停机坪，则可以让玩家进行机体零件的买卖跟装设，而斗技场则是可以让玩家透过一对一的对战来获得赏金。
Falcon
O.C.U.佣兵部队的司令官，虽然没有穿军服，但却是个正规的军人。虽然乍看之下很强势，却很为部下著想，很得到主角等人的信赖。
Yuji Kinoshita
佣兵值勤办公室的技术人员，负责基地内设施、战斗等等的说明支援，在第一次哈伏曼纷争时曾经是WAP驾驶员。
而在游戏内登场的神秘部队“Vampires”，是一只背景、目的、甚至组**数等等全部都不明的神秘部队，在其中的成员里面，还有以号码称呼、并搭乘黑色机器人形兵器“Panzer”或其他大型兵器的精英存在，而这次就要来为玩家们介绍其中的五名成员角色！
Monk
曾经以格斗家身份名响一时的男人。就算搭乘“Panzer”也一样是以格斗战为主，跟主角小队的“Champ”似乎有著某种关系存在
Berserker
“Berserker”小队的队长，能够冷静看待战局的人。也是首次跟“Storm”小队正式交战的号码小队之一。
Golem
非常显眼的美少女，预定在这次任务结束后前往欧洲去看自己的弟弟。
Chimaira
搭载大型兵器登场，为了维持在机械里面修补肉体而花了很多钱的样子
Wizard
负责“Berserker”小队的回复角，性格冷酷，有时又有著乐观的一面。
