Hello,just to make it clear, main server is online and running, but its not stable enough to handle all the players, you might be able to reach the server and play online, but its based on a luck.
As NTA said (viewtopic.php?t=111897) MW3 server rewrite is in progress, which might fix the issues that a number of you are experiencing regarding server stability - ETA's around 2 weeks at the most.
Please do not create new topics about this issue, sooner or later we will be all able to enjoy alterMW3.
